Hide and Seek Photography Club Ongoing Contest

Objective:
·         Take a picture based on the criteria under “Guidelines & Rules”.
·         Print & mount this picture and hand it into the presidency individually.
·         Everyone will guess where the other people’s photos were taken.
·         In order to submit your answer of where you believe the photograph was taken, you MUST go to the spot yourself and take a "revision" or "replication" of the photo.
·         Eventually, you will develop this photo and turn it in with your information written on the back.
·         You will earn points for each winning entry you submit.
·         At the end, points will be tallied and the person with the most points wins a prize.

When and How:
·         Whenever you have the free time, you may begin shooting. However, everyone is required to take at least one photo for the Hide and Seek Photography contest. You may want to consider taking more than one incase the one you take doesn’t come out.
·         As the above rule implies, every member is required to submit at least one into the contest.
·         You may choose whatever aperture/shutter speed that is convenient for the shot.
·         Remember to try to use the “Rule of Thirds” and the “Golden Triangles” when shooting. You may Google the terms to refresh your knowledge!

Guidelines & Rules:
·         Photos are to be taken in any public area of Avon Lake. Examples: parks, school, library, etc.
·         Everyone must have access to the place you took the picture.
·         It can’t be in private areas. Examples: a house, someone’s yard, a restaurant, etc.
·         It can't be a photo of something extremely generic that is unrecognizable... like a patch of grass.
·         No street signs (you can blur or block them if it happens to be in the photo though)
·         Be creative!!!!!!!
·         You CAN NOT say where you think the picture was taken out loud or give ANYTHING away to anyone. This is a strictly “Individual” Contest. Keep everything to yourself for the prize.
·         You can not tell ANYONE where you took your own individual Hide and Seek photo.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the Presidents!

Photographing the School Project

Hi photoclub members, the project we've been working on is nearing it's end, and we'll need to start wrapping things up. We're asking you to go on your own time to complete this project if you haven't already. Any prints you're done with? Check with a photo president before matting for an okay and we'll start collecting those. If you do not know how to, ask one of us to show you how the matting process is done.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday!

The Neo "I Lost Count" Meeting of 1/5/11

You are formally obligated to attend the next meeting of photo club, which is on Wednesday.

Our goal is to complete this project. Some are still developing, and others are printing but that is alright. This upcoming meeting will be another workshop for you to continue working on the project, but we are asking any additional finishing will need to be on your own time. Study halls, and before and after school are good times, check with Mr. Fred for study halls and after and before school hours.

The time will be as usual, 3-4 p.m. after school.
Film users will be developing (if necessary) and printing, and if possible mounting. This means you need your camera, if you need to take the film out, tanks, photographic paper, scissors, china markers, etc.
Digital users will be transferring pictures onto the macs by your personal means (you can email yourself your pictures, take them directly off your camera onto the macs, or use a flash drive...etc.) If you are taking your pictures directly off your camera you must bring your own usb cable, and bring your camera. It is easier just to bring a flash drive or email them to yourselves. Digital users will be editing their photographs.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, grievances.. email us at alhsphotoclub@gmail.com

Thanks! See you Wednesday.
